Transparent billing with charts and documents

Transparent billing

The issue of fees is important. I therefore want to provide you with clear information from the outset about how I work and how I bill for my services.

My goal is simple: to provide you with a clear, transparent framework tailored to your situation.

The first consultation

The initial consultation allows me to familiarize myself with your situation, identify the key issues in your case, and present you with the available options. It generally lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour and 30 minutes and can take place at the office, by phone, or via video conference. The fee is 200 euros (excluding tax), or 240 euros (including tax).

However, this consultation will only be billed if we do not end up working together.

If you then decide to hire me to handle your case, the cost of this initial consultation will be deducted from the fees charged for my services. In other words, you’ll only be charged for the initial consultation if we don’t proceed further together.

Consulting services: billing based on time spent, subject to a cap

For consulting engagements, I prefer to use a capped hourly rate. This billing method allows for flexibility while giving the client a clear understanding of the maximum cost of my services.

Specifically, my services are billed at an hourly rate of 200 euros (excluding tax), with a cap set in advance based on the nature of the case, the anticipated scope of work, and the level of complexity.

This option is particularly well-suited when you need:

  • to take stock of your situation;
  • to receive strategic advice;
  • to have someone support you in discussions with your employer;
  • or to take a cautious approach without immediately initiating legal proceedings.

It allows you to tailor the work to what your case actually requires, without compromising on predictability.

Negotiating severance terms and challenging a termination

In cases involving initial negotiations or challenges to a termination, my involvement generally proceeds in two stages.

This phase includes, in particular:

  • review of the case;
  • part analysis;
  • the definition of the strategy;
  • assessment of financial issues;
  • our communication with you;
  • the search for evidence;
  • drafting letters or draft agreements;
  • and, where appropriate, negotiating with the employer or its representative.

This phase is billed on an hourly basis at a rate of 200 euros per hour (excluding tax), with a pre-determined cap.

In my standard contract, this limit is generally set at 2,000 euros excluding tax, or 2,400 euros including tax, but it can be adjusted depending on the nature and complexity of the project.

If negotiations are unsuccessful, or if the matter must be referred to the labor court, the litigation phase will be billed separately. In such cases, I generally charge a flat fee based on the type of proceeding: filing of a complaint, conciliation hearing, submission of briefs, trial hearing, and, if necessary, additional proceedings.

This provides the client with transparency and allows billing to be adjusted based on the actual progress of the project.

Only services actually performed are billed.

Fee amounts are determined on a case-by-case basis. They may therefore vary depending on the complexity of the case, the anticipated time required to handle it, and any specific challenges it presents.

A contingency fee

A success fee is charged in addition to the fixed fees. It is calculated based on the amounts recovered with my assistance, whether through a settlement or a court ruling.

This success fee is set at 10% (excluding VAT) of the gross amounts recovered, plus VAT at the applicable rate. This fee is paid based on the outcome achieved, in addition to the work performed throughout the case.

A standard fee agreement

Before we begin working on your case, we will provide you with a written fee agreement. This agreement specifies:

The context of my presentation

The billing method selected

Applicable fees

And, if applicable, external fees or expenses

This way, you know right from the start what our approach is.

legal protection insurance policy

A Wise Precaution: Legal Protection Insurance

I also encourage you to check whether you have legal protection insurance. This coverage is sometimes included in insurance policies that aren’t immediately obvious, such as home insurance, auto insurance, or credit card policies.

Depending on your policy, it may cover part of my fees.

If necessary, I can provide you with the necessary information to help you with the process with your insurance company.

Terms and conditions tailored to customers throughout France

I provide support to employees throughout France, including remotely.

Appointments can be held via video conference or by phone, allowing for seamless and efficient follow-up, including for clients who are geographically distant or living abroad.

I place particular emphasis on providing legal services that are clear and consistent from a financial perspective, including for international or English-speaking clients seeking a lawyer in France who can practice in both French and English.
